ArenaNet is Heading to Comic-Con!

As there hasn't been any official news regarding Guild Wars 2 in a while, let's talk Comic-Con!
ArenaNet will be present at 2011's Comic-Con! They have various plans ready.

The Booth
Fans will have the chance to talk to a couple ArenaNet staffers like Concept Art Team Lead Kekai Kotaki, Lead Content Designer Colin Johanson and other artists and devs at the NCsoft Booth (#5345). And of course try out Guild Wars 2! The full schedule for the booth.

NCsoft San Diego Meet and Greet
On the evening of Friday, July 22, NCsoft will be hosting the NCsoft San Diego Meet & Greet. However it's limited ticketed, only for the biggest NCsoft fans. The only way to get a ticket is by visiting the NCsoft Booth (#5345) and speak the secret code to someone from the staff (Little catch; you have to be 21). Check out Guild Wars 2's twitter account, you never know if they reveal the code on there. ;-)

Alienware Mobile LAN Tour
For those that were too late for tickets, but would still like to join in the fun, visit the Alienware Mobile LAN Tour at Petco Park at the D1/D2 parking lot. It’s a big customized H1 Hummer stocked with PCs for you to play Guild Wars 2 on – and perhaps they'll even have giveaways and activities. Check it from July 21-24.

The Panel
ArenaNet devs and artists will be conducting a panel on Saturday to give attendees a deeper understanding of Guild Wars 2. In their panel, Rethinking the Online RPG: How Guild Wars 2 Explores New Dimensions in Social Gaming, they’ll take a look at how Guild Wars 2 is re-thinking MMO conventions and answer your questions. It all happens on Saturday, July 23 from 2PM to 3PM in Room 23 ABC.

It’s going to be a busy weekend!

Fan Artwork: BEE Good

Thank you Secret Agent Cat for another beautiful drawing! This should represent a Sylvari Thief, but by all means, make your own conclusions. ;)

The details on this picture are amazing, I adore the little cut-like things on the 'skin' to represent their origin(You know, trees).
Then the sword, you could say it's a sort of rapier or smallsword(Not sure if those names are correct, Google Translate is full of win). It looks like the hilt exists out of a carnivorous plant and maybe some roots. What about the actual blade part? Is it a sort of tongue or a root perhaps? All in all, it looks awesome.

There is also a picture of a beegun in more detail

So, a gun that shoots angry bees at your enemies, that can only be a success! And look at the little bee in the drawing, on top of the gun, it already loves it. Come on ArenaNet, you know what to do.

I did not make these drawings, nor do I own them. Please visit http://secretagentcat.com/2011/07/02/bee-good/ for the original post of these drawings.

Video: ArenaNet Community Open House 2011

Yay! A new post from the ArenaNet blog about there ArenaNet Community Open House 2011. In this post they feature the video ArenaNet Community Open House Video on YouTube. This video shows how some of the biggest Guild Wars fans were allowed to explore the new ArenaNet offices in Bellevue, Washington.

The fans tackled the formidable Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon, hung out with devs and got a grand studio tour. Check out this new video for a look inside ArenaNet’s first ever Community Open House!

Personally, I'm really jealous at those people, I would have loved to be there. Especially to try out Guild Wars 2's newest build!

Guild Wars & Guild Wars 2 Costume Competition at gamescom 2011 – and an Additional EU Show!

Today, the official ArenaNet blog posted about the GW & GW2 Costume Competition at gamescom on Sunday, August 21st. Everyone is encouraged to show off their awesome Guild Wars costumes or to share their Guild Wars 2 excitement by creating an amazing Guild Wars 2 outfit!

I personally can't wait to see the first Sylvari costumes!

That's not all ArenaNet reported about. They also announced they will be attending Eurogamer EXPO 2011, September 22-25 in London.

What do you guys think, will the Guild Wars community show up with some awesome costumes(maybe in the hope to win some epic prizes ;-) )? Will you be attending any of the ArenaNet Tradeshows this summer and maybe create your own costume? Let me know in the comments!

Greetings,
C.A.
